Interstim Support

Interstim is a surgery that has some real risks but has helped some patients with their frequency and some patients with retention. Since it is surgery it is something that should only be considered after other options have not worked. It has a lot of risks will you will find in the pinned thread of this board. I encourage everyone that is considering Interstim to please read the risks!! Like everywhere on the ICandME both sides of any issue are allowed here. Please be respectful of everyone's opinion, feelings, and experiences. The ICandME does not have a standing on the use of the Interstim beyond learning all you can prior, get the best doctor you can, and try other things before surgery of any kind. This board is specifically for support when things aren't working out from the Insterstim so please take that into account and realize when things aren't going well the person needs support and it may be only one side of the story of Interstim.

Nerve pain or symptoms

this is complicated subject since all pain and all symptoms are at least somewhat influenced by the nerves. Some things more so than others. After having symptoms for a long time your nerves may get dammaged and continue to send the signals even if your bladder is looking better. Discuss treating the nerve aspect here
